Who we are

BePickleballer LLC (“we”, “us”) operates the PicklePulse mobile application. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. Contact us at hello@trypicklepulse.com.

Your account

When you first open PicklePulse we create an anonymous account for you automatically, so you can use the app without signing up. Nothing about that account identifies you.

You can later save your account by adding an email address, or by using Sign in with Apple. If you add an email we store it. If you use Sign in with Apple we store the identifier Apple gives us, and the email address only if you choose to share it rather than hide it.

If you were using the app as a guest and then sign in, we ask before moving your guest activity to that account. If you decline, the guest activity stays where it is and is not attached to you.

Location

With your permission we use your device’s location to show courts near you, and to confirm you are actually at a court when you check in. We record how far you were from the court alongside the check-in.

We do not keep a continuous trail of where you go. What we do keep is tied to things you do at a court:

• The coordinates recorded with a check-in.
• Which court a session took place at, and when it started and ended. If you turn on automatic check-in, the app can detect arriving at and leaving a court and record a session from that, without you opening it.
• An approximate home location if you set one, stored as a zip code, a city name, and coordinates for that area.

Taken together this amounts to a record of which courts you have visited and when. You can turn automatic check-in off at any time in Settings, and deleting your account removes all of it.

What you record in the app

Check-ins. When you check in we save what you shared: how busy the court is, how many courts are open, how many players are waiting, the level of play, and any notes you add. This is shown to other players, which is the point of it.

Sessions. When you log a session we save the court, the start and end time, and anything else you choose to add: session type, level of play, games played, games won, and a private note. Sessions are yours alone. Other players do not see them.

Profile. Your display name, skill level, avatar, and home area, if you set them. Your display name and skill can be seen by other players alongside your check-ins.

Activity totals. Check-in count, courts visited, helpful votes received, achievements, and streaks, all derived from the above.

Purchases

If you buy a PicklePulse membership, the payment itself is handled by Apple or Google. We never see or store your card details.

We use RevenueCat to manage memberships. They receive a purchase identifier, the product you bought, and your PicklePulse account identifier, so we can tell whether your membership is active. We store the same on our side, along with when it started and when it was last confirmed.

Notifications

If you allow notifications we store your device’s push token, a random identifier that lets us deliver them. It cannot be used to identify you. You can turn any category off in your profile, and turning them all off stops us using the token.

How we improve the app

We use PostHog to understand how PicklePulse is used, so we can see which parts work and which do not. It records actions like opening the app, finishing setup, viewing the map, checking in at a court, finishing a session, and starting a membership. Alongside each one we store your PicklePulse account identifier, the app version, and details of the action itself, such as which court you checked in at and the town it is in.

We do not record your screen and we do not collect your name, email, or precise location through analytics.

If you delete your account, analytics records are kept for up to 30 days and are then removed.

What we do not do

We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not use it to build an advertising profile. There is no advertising in PicklePulse.

Who processes data for us

• Supabase— database, authentication, and file storage.
• Railway— hosting for our backend.
• Vercel— hosting for this website.
• RevenueCat— membership status.
• Apple— Sign in with Apple, push delivery on iOS, and App Store purchases.
• Google— maps, push delivery on Android, and Play Store purchases.
• Expo— routing push notifications to Apple and Google.
• PostHog— product analytics.

These providers process your data to operate the app and not for their own purposes.

Your choices

• Change or clear your display name, skill level, and home area at any time in your profile.
• Change notification preferences at any time in your profile.
• Turn automatic check-in on or off in Settings.
• Delete a session you logged, from the session itself.
• Delete your account, from your profile. This permanently removes your profile, check-ins, sessions, votes, achievements, and push tokens. If you used Sign in with Apple we also ask Apple to revoke the sign-in grant. There is no way to recover a deleted account.

Children

PicklePulse is not intended for children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided data, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes

We may update this policy. When we do we will change the date at the top, and for significant changes we will tell you in the app.
